In a small complex framed by a hedge between the confluence of Berliner Strasse and Ernst-Thälmann-Strasse stands a three-sided stele with a metal inscription panel on the front and a relief on each of the other two sides. An inscription above. At the top, a dove of peace looking towards the city center.

The memorial to the victims of fascism in 1950 is one of two memorials on the small square on the corner of Ernst-Thälmann-Straße and Berliner Straße. The triangular shape of the memorial shows that it was designed for this exact square. The second memorial at this location is a memorial stone for Ernst Thälmann, who was only erected here later.
The memorial entitled "To the victims of senseless destruction" has a metal plaque with the inscription on the front: "To honor the dead, to us living as an obligation!".
The two-sided inscription in the sandstone above the two reliefs reads: "To the victims of senseless destruction - to the blessings of peaceful action".
