Steep shell limestone cliffs are a geological feature in the Rhön. From Dermbach, a visit to the cliffs can be easily combined with the Staudt view and the tours to the Gläserberg.

The cliffs are always a real surprise. You walk comfortably through meadows and forest, and suddenly it's mystical - like in a fairy tale.
Steep, jagged rocks on one side, gloomy forest on the other, make an enchanted impression. The legendary robber "Rhönpaulus" could come around the corner at any time or at least a gnome, dwarf or goblin could be up to mischief :-).
      Caution is advised!
But not because of that, but when it is wet, the path is slippery! So walk carefully with good shoes!

The cliffs are a limestone formation that swings up to a considerable height in the forest. Beautiful to look at, but I would advise against trying climbing as the rock is very brittle. You can climb up to 2 or 3 small "caves" (more like shelters), which was great fun for the very sure-footed children
