The Dittersdorfer Höhe went as station No. 91 of the Königl. Saxon. Triangulation in scientific history. From here you can enjoy an excellent view of the Saxon surroundings. When visibility is good you can see the Erzgebirge ridge with its peaks.
In the 19th century, two 1st order stations and six 2nd order stations were targeted for surveying purposes. The installed monolith served as the mounting base for the optical measuring devices.

In good weather you have a wonderful view of the Erzgebirge, which is well-paid for the rise. I recommend the driveway through the forest on the Zschopauer road, since it is shady here. Coming from Gornau or Dittersdorf you are quite unprotected from the sun, go up the slope. Dear in the shade, slowly up and down quickly in the sun, I think ;-).

View into the surrounding valleys of Zschopau and Zwönitz as well as the Erzgebirgskamm including Fichtelberg, Keilberg, Bärenstein, Pöhlberg, etc.
