Pancalieri is a municipality on the left bank of the Po,
31km south of Turin. The name Pancalieri would derive from the configuration of the place, which is a lower level towards the Po, from which Piano Calerio, that is, lower level. The municipality is also known as the "island of grass", since 50% of the Italian production of medicinal herbs is grown.

👉 1st Sunday of March - Nursery fair, market exhibition of tree and fruit plants, floriculture and agri-food products
👉 3rd week of September - “Viverbe”, Piedmontese review of officinal plants and nursery crops. Place: Sports Facilities
👉Museum of Mint and Officinal Plants, open to the public upon request, tells the story of the cultivation of medicinal plants and mint, which was planted here for the first time in 1865 by the pharmacist Chiaffredo Gamba.

Beautiful country, showing a glorious past. The town hall square is a small jewel, with buildings from different periods next to each other, not least the old mill transformed into a restaurant. The small historic center is full of interesting religious and civil architecture. Several water points scattered here and there (unfortunately closed in the winter season, but it fits). A nice destination for a day trip.
