The left side of the Rur is really nice to cycle along the river. Sometimes it is a leisurely river and sometimes it even looks a little wilder (at the numerous weirs).

From the source in the High Fens in Belgium to the estuary in Roermond in the Netherlands, the RurUfer Cycle Path runs for around 162 kilometers through varied natural areas, closed historic town centers and scenic idylls. Beginning at the "Signal de Botrange" viewing platform, the highest point in Belgium, the guest heads for the old cloth-making town of Monschau after sections covered in forest. Always the Rur to one side, the Eifel Lake District and the Eifel National Park spread out before the visitor from Einruhr. Due to unique landscapes such as the Jülicher Börde and the Indeland, the further course on the last stage through the Heinsberger Land to the Netherlands is also very bike-friendly.
