Loch Insh is a popular little loch near the village of Kincraig. A range of activities take place on its waters, from sailing and windsurfing to fishing. There is plenty of accommodation and other amenities around the loch, such as the Boathouse bar and restaurant.

Interestingly, the old Ptarmigan Dome, which used to be the highest cafe building in Britain at 3,599 feet (1097 m) high on the flanks of Cairn Gorm, has been reconstructed by the lochside and now hosts weddings, parties and conferences.
