The fortress Munot was built from 1536 to 1546 according to an idea of Albrecht Dürer as Rondellbefestigung.

Today the Munot is an administrative and cultural building. It is surrounded by a vineyard, which belongs to the city of Schaffhausen and every year delivers a few thousand liters of wine.
