    Fulvio Setti was born in Modena on February 16, 1914
    In 1936 he obtained the civil pilot license. From 1936 to 1938 he carried out military service in the Regia Aeronautica as a military pilot qualified to pilot the Savoia-Marchetti S.M.81 Pipistrello, Piaggio P.32 and CANT Z.1011 bombers.
    After the military he graduated in Economics and Commerce from the University of Bologna in 1939.
    He was recalled to service for World War II in early 1942.
    During the conflict he was awarded the following decorations:
    - Gold medal for military valor
    Sky of the Mediterranean and Tunisia, 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 May 1943)
    - Silver Medal for Military Valor (Northern African and Mediterranean Sky May 30, 1942 - February 28, 1943)
    - War cross for military valor (Chief of crew of multi-engine transport aircraft, he did his utmost to ensure the continuous connection with the Motherland and the troops operating overseas, participating in numerous day and night war missions on routes guarded by the enemy fighters. enemy aircraft, having had the aircraft hit in the vital parts and with the beginning of a fire on board, he managed to save it by making a perfect crash landing while his weapons contributed to the downing of an enemy aircraft. 20 May 1942 - 28 February 1943).

Then he served in the Italian Cobelligerant Air Force and took leave with the rank of pilot lieutenant. He was later assigned the role of honor with the rank of pilot colonel.
    He died in Modena on March 19, 1991.
