Bounded by the sinuous switchbacks of the Nantlle Ridge and the 'Elephant Mountain' of Mynydd Mawr, the Nantlle Valley is one of Snowdonia's quietest and most scenic beauty spots.
Characterised by a number of small former slate mining villages and the remains of the industry, it is thought that around 85% of its inhabitants still speak Welsh as their first language.
