One of the most beautiful chapels in the area ... Definitely visit ✝️🙏💒👰🏻🤍

Kapelle has been a piece of home for 125 years

Marktsteinach (rsf) The chapel in the flask section has been a popular destination for pilgrims for 125 years.
The chapel was built in place of a wayside shrine that was erected in honor of the 14 helpers in need. A chapel is mentioned on the piston around 1500 and a cult site is said to have existed here as early as in Celtic times. The chapel can be reached on foot from the village or by car via the neighboring village of Waldsachsen.

The priest Michael Biegner from Marktsteinach had the current chapel built in honor of Our Lady in 1881, and in 1911 he added a Stations of the Cross with 14 stations. In 1900 a Lourdes grotto was set at the beginning of the Way of the Cross at the foot of the mountain.
