Shortly before the First World War began in 1914, the local community had the Protestant church built according to plans by the Nuremberg architect A. Frey, which was completed in December 1918. Due to the difficult post-war years and inflation, the altar, pulpit and baptismal font were not consecrated until 1928. From 1918 to 1954, still a daughter church of Michelrieth, Glasofen became an independent parish with its own church council. The "Christ Church" was last renovated in 2001/03.
