The Pialasssa dei Pomboni is a wetland located south of the Candiano canal, the historic port-canal of Ravenna.

The Pialassa consists of pockets of salt water populated by algal communities with barenicolous wrecks.

The port encumbrances, the historic huts and the small size of the smallest Ravenna lagoon, directly open to the Candiano, make the environments of the Pialassa very fragmented, fragile and constantly exposed to forms of degradation.

Unfortunately at present, in the wetland, forms of environmental degradation, building abuses prevail, such as sheds, dilapidated piers and forms of "parking" for ship scrapping.
