The Douglasshütte stands on the shores of Lake Lüner at the end of the Brandnertal in Rätikon in Vorarlberg. Lake Lünersee was voted one of Austria's most beautiful lakes by our readers. A visit is recommended. Lake and hut are located at the foot of the Schesaplana, the highest mountain of the Rätikon. Together they form a unique alpine ensemble.
The Bergsee hut attracts hikers, mountaineers and fishermen alike. The house on Lake Lüner was named after the Scottish industrialist, naturalist and co-founder of the Vorarlberg Alpine Club, John Sholto Douglass, and opened in his presence in 1871.
