Surrounded by a beautiful park, which used to form the fortification system of the castle, it is located in the heart of the city, right next to the town hall, and is now referred to as the "castle of the citizens", especially by the people of Lüdinghausen.

"The Bauhaus is located on the eastern outer bailey of Lüdinghausen Castle, which was rebuilt in 1569 after a fire caused by a lightning strike.
The Bauhaus was an outbuilding of the castle in which all factory work was carried out and supplies were stored. From the building from the 16th century only the front as a massive three-staggered gable with shell-shaped attachments (half wheels) and lion heads is preserved today.
There is a coat of arms with an illegible inscription above the former entrance gate. Today's building is a building from the 19th century built on the old foundations." Source: luedinghausen-tourismus.de
