The Lombergbeek or Mechelderbeek is a stream in Dutch South Limburg. It is a tributary on the right bank of the Geul. It has its source south of Vijlen in a valley at the foot of the Vijlenerbossen. Along the way she is fed by several side streams. In the valley, near the brook, lies the hamlet of Melleschet. It flows into Mechelen on the east side and runs west via Hoofdstraat. In the hamlet of Overgeul to the north of the Commandeursmolen, the Lombergbeek flows into the Geul at the place where two river branches meet.

A beautiful route of 4.3 km that runs partly through the Mechelderbeek valley between Mechelen and Elzet in a rolling landscape with meadows, woodlands and wide views. In the hamlet of Elzet you will find old half-timbered houses. This route departs from the parking lot at the Spetsesweide opposite the fire station. In the village center of Mechelen you will find several restaurants within a short walking distance that meet the Walk&Lunch criteria.
Sturdy walking shoes are recommended.
