This former dam west of Westhofen has been renatured and gives a peaceful, relaxed feeling when you can ignore the noise of the nearby country road. The Altbach, which flows through this former reservoir, is created in Gundersheim by confluences before it meets the Seebach in Westhofen. It drove numerous mills in the Middle Ages, the first of which still has a mill wheel in Westhofen.
