In 1816/17, a large, 506-hectare deer park with fallow deer and moufflons was created around the Duttenstein Castle. The entire park is surrounded by a fence up to 2.5 meters high. It is special because it is one of the few surviving game parks of the early 19th century. The park is open to visitors and, if you are lucky, you can also spot game.

The owner of Schloss Duttenstein is not a hiking friend. For around 5 months, he leaves on the way to the wildlife park and castle a sign "Driven Hunt" so that many turn back. Me too 2x. The third time I overcame the protective fence from the direction of Bavaria and went through the wildlife park completely. Zero hunting operation. The corresponding sign I ALWAYS found before.
