In this area an early medieval settlement was located in the 7th – 13th centuries.
The most ancient mention about the village dates from 1224, when Świętopełk confirmed the possession of the Oliva monastery. In 1823 the property was purchased by Friedrich Gustav von Grass, who, after receiving the nobleman’s title in 1852 built here a neo-gothic palace (according to the design of Stüller). Alas, during the 2nd world war the palace was burnt in February 1942. Currently a private property, it has been partly restored. The only trace of the former magnificence of the property is the gate tower with a trimmer from 1556, and a family tomb of the von Grass family located nearby.
