Cima Mandriolo (or Manderiòlo) is one of the peaks that border the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni to the north: the southern slope slopes gently towards the Altopiano, while the northern slope descends steeply towards Valsugana. From the summit you can enjoy a superlative panorama: to the east, the long bastion of Cima Portule; to the south, Mount Verena and the Vezzena plateau; to the west, Cima Vezzena with its fort, the Vicenza Prealps and the Becco di Filadonna; to the north, Valsugana, the Dolomites and the entire Lagorai chain. The final climb is on the crest, at a safe distance from the overhang on Valsugana, but going off-road you find yourself with caution on the edge of the unprotected abyss: it is precisely this verticality towards the north that makes this excursion, without a doubt, rewarding.
