Zuylestein estate was purchased in 1630 by stadtholder Frederik Hendrik van Oranje Nassau. A historical print from that time shows what the vegetable garden looked like then. The wide path structure in the right proportion on which high-ranking visitors walked, small fruit trees that were easy to pick from and flat containers to extend the season. These historical elements have been restored to their former glory.

We were a bit too early for the vegetable garden. It seems that it is definitely worth visiting in the summer.
