The flax holes (flax roaster) are located a little outside the village, where the soil is moist and water-containing. These are pits filled with water that are 5x3m in size and 1m deep. The flax was stored under water in these rectangular pits for eight days so that the fibers could later be easily separated from the wooden part. Then it was spread out to dry in the field. The flax from the cold water rotting has a beautiful flax-blonde color. With taurots, the flax is placed on the damp ground and given a brown-gray color and a noble shine.

A good opportunity to learn something about the former cultivation of flax on the Schönbach circular trail. To see the somewhat inconspicuous flax holes, you have to walk 100 m along the (side) path.
