The Twedter Feld, Flensburg's first nature reserve, managed by NABU, is around 90 hectares in size and was designated as an NSG in 2003. Although it partly borders on urban housing development and intensive agriculture, it still has a lot to offer for the nature lover.

Hiking

107 bird species have been observed in the nature reserve. The most common breeding birds in the area are Wren, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Blackcap, Song Thrush, Blackbird, Robin, Willow Warbler, Chaffinch, Garden Warbler, Whitethroat, Rattlecap, Marsh Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Short-toed Treecreeper, Greylag Goose and White Wagtail.
