Burgstall Wöhr
The castle ruins are located approx. 300 m south at the west end of Wöhr and south of the B 299, as well as north of a former Danube arm that once flowed here. The castle presumably served to protect a nearby Danube crossing, as it was situated at the intersection of the former Nibelungenstraße and a road leading west from Regensburg. These roads were likely relocated due to Danube collapses, and the new intersection was then located at Trephenau Castle and later in Neustadt an der Donau.

Forgotten witnesses of the Middle Ages:
The establishment was probably in the 12./13. Century and is related to a completely free noble family, which emerged from the Lords of Sittling and named themselves after Wöhr or Werde.
