Actually Porta Venezia, this gate was built around 1519, probably based on plans by Guglielmo Bergamasco. The gate is popularly known as Porto bello.

The gate dates back to 1519 and is different from the other gates in the city. There are two white stone lions on the bridge over the Piovego canal. A clock was later added to the top of the tower.
