Sadali is a pretty little village in the middle of Gennargentu with about a thousand inhabitants. For us it is by far the most beautiful village in Sardinia that we have seen. No traffic stress, no honking, no hustle and bustle, few people and plenty of splashing water all over the village.
No place in Sardinia has more springs than Sadali, which is why it is also called Paese dell’acqua - the village of water. Sometimes it flows alongside, sometimes it splashes directly from the wall of a house.
Another special feature is the Cascata di San Valentino waterfall, idyllically located in the middle of the village. It is overgrown with green and stands next to an old mill.
The Sa Ucca Manna grotto, which means something like "big mouth", is almost around the corner. The water also flows through here.
The church of San Valentino is also worth seeing.
The many huge fig trees that bore plenty of fruit were also very impressive.
