Bismarck Tower Burg (Spreewald)

The tower consists of 1.5 million red clinker bricks from the Californian Ottilienhütte.The square base of the tower is one meter high and has an edge length of 13.77 meters. The first floor is also square with an edge length of 9.35 meters. In it there is a memorial hall surrounded by 28 pillars, over whose central space rises an octagonal dome. The hall is covered with green majolica panels by Ernst Teichert from Meißen.Above the hall there is a viewing platform 5 and 18 meters high. For the ascent and descent, two stone spiral staircases are available. About 26 steps lead to the first platform, another 70 steps lead to the second viewing level. From there you can access a metal spiral staircase with 26 steps to the octagonal tower

Very handsome monument that you shouldn't drive past without a look.
