The name alone sounds like an adventure: "Sunken Bridge" is the name of the project with the help of which the Kubaai site is to be connected to the city center for pedestrians and cyclists in the future.
For this purpose, a three-and-a-half-meter-wide cycle path made of precast concrete will be built around the foundation of the existing bridge in the Bocholter Aa under the road bridge on Theodor-Heuss-Ring and clad with steel. Users of the path then move below the waterline, so to speak.
