The toll alpine road in the Berchtesgaden Alps is located just a few kilometers outside of Salzburg. The ascent from Marktschellenberg can be combined with beautiful and quiet side roads at the beginning. This side is also more scenic and you not only have a beautiful view of the Berchtesgadener Land and the Watzmann, but also of the Hoher Göll, which is right next to the Rossfeld.
Once you get to the top, you have an incredibly beautiful view of the Untersberg, Salzburg, Hallein, Golling and the Tennengebirge. If the visibility is good, you can also see the Dachstein.
