Whether in summer, spring, winter or autumn - there is always something going on at the harbor. To look, there are old fishing boats, a lighthouse, the wooden bridge and much more. On the 1st Sunday of the month, the fish market takes place here regularly.

The harbor is one of the highlights of the beautiful coastal town of Eckernförde. When tourism fades away and the cold east wind blows over the harbor, you feel the north.

The harbor with its narrow side streets is really worth seeing!

Nice little harbor! I can recommend for overnight guests the hotel "Die Werft" (or similar) - located directly on the harbor

The sprat trail starts at the harbor's tip. One hundred years ago, Eckernförde was one of the most important fishing and fish-smoking sites on the Baltic Sea. Even in the 60s, the city was characterized by this craft. On the trail of the sprat you can get an overall view. A leaflet can be found in the Tourist Information.

Here you can see trawlers with fresh cod and herring, proud tall ships and sleek yachts.

Previously, the port served primarily the grain and fertilizer envelope. Today marinas with sailing and motor yachts dominate the picture. A wooden bascule bridge, which is opened when needed for passing ships, connects Eckernförde with the northern Borby district. At the same time she divides the port into the inner harbor and the outer harbor.
The larger outer harbor is protected by its foreshore by two piers.

Every first Sunday of the month the fish market takes place at the picturesque harbor, in August the second Sunday

Schnuckeliger harbor, here you can sometimes still see the ancient small boat that bears the name "corner xxx". There used to be over 100 pieces, today there are only a few left.
