The Priory of Notre-Dame de Franchard is a hermitage located in the Forest of Fontainebleau in the department of Seine-et-Marne, of the order of the Trinitarians, following the rule of Saint Augustine.
This place has long attracted cenobites. The first chapel was under the patronage of Saint Alexis of Rome († v.411), then under that of the Virgin. There is evidence of the presence of hermits in Franchard from the 11th century.
