The Gleesen lock (DEK-km 137.9) is the northernmost structure of the so-called Rheine lock staircase. On this approximately 29-kilometer-long section of the canal, a height difference of almost 29 meters is overcome up to the Bevergern lock (DEK-km 109.3).Source: Wikipedia

The paths along the shore are currently partially closed. Diversions are not signposted. However, the lock can be bypassed. (As of 24.5.2018)
