At the site of the present brick church, originally a wooden church was built in the first half of the 17th century, together with the Benedictine nuns' monastery, funded by Barbara Tarłowa. Unfortunately, it was destroyed during the Swedish Deluge. At the end of the 17th century, the construction of a brick church began. Over the centuries, the monastery housed a military hospital and later a prison. In 1837, the church was converted into an Orthodox church. During World War I, there was a warehouse here. Since the mid-twentieth century, the church has been managed by the Jesuits, and now it also houses the Curia of the Diocese of Radom.
