Hiking
Birch Wood is a woodland full of character. There is a huge cliff at one side and lots of rooty tracks to explore. In Spring, bluebells carpet the woodland, followed by wild garlic and a thick canopy of green in Summer. In Autumn, you get fabulous red and golds. There is plenty of wildlife to observe in the woods, too. There are old signs saying the woodland is private property. However, ignore these. There are long-established paths through the woodland and it is much-enjoyed by the community.
