The mill wheel is a remnant of the former paper mill Haerlin in Gauting, which was founded in 1878 by Julius Haerlin. Since it had to do without a weir and its own weir, it is wider than most other mill wheels. It had to use the normal flow of the river. In 1967, the production of the paper mill was shut down. On the site of the factory is now a modern residential complex. The mill wheel was rebuilt slightly offset on the Würm. (Source Wikipedia)
