In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful places in the world, definitely "a lovable piece of earth". Intoxicating nature along the Danube and on the Antoniberg the beautiful old linden trees, which are grouped around the small but fine churches and chapels. St. Anton is the oldest church here and was then extended by an extension at a 90 ° angle, St. Anna - also very rarely seen in this way. There is also a neo-Gothic style crypt chapel, which is used today by Counts Arco and Moy and was originally built as the burial place of the Princess and Archduchess of Austria and Bavarian Electress Marie Leopoldine. Throughout her life she was also a very colorful and enterprising figure who wanted to be buried here in her favorite place. Unfortunately, the churches have been closed for a long time because they were completely robbed in the 1970s. But every year there is a pilgrimage with the Antonibergfest. At the foot of the hill there was a ferry across the Danube for centuries until the 20th century. The last ferryman and fisherman Anton Riedl always rested between trips in the Danube's whirlpool until he died in 1985 at the age of 90. At times there was also a hermitage on the Antoniberg, but the last hermit died in 1827.
Information is from a small booklet "Am Antoniberg" by Horst Schwark and Jürgen Polifke, 1987 Neuburg / Donau.

A nice destination on the Antoniberg in Stepberg: the Antonius Chapel. Under the following link you can find some details about their history: naturpark-altmuehltal.de/sehenswerte/aussichtpunkte_antoniberg-1795
