Via del Genio is a narrow secondary street that from Via di Casaglia, a stone's throw from the city centre, climbs steeply up the Osservanza hill. Its 22 hairpin bends are concentrated in almost 2 kilometers in length with 150 meters of difference in altitude, resulting in an average gradient of almost 8% with peaks exceeding 12%. The fact that it has little traffic and that every hairpin bend offers panoramic views of San Luca, the surrounding hills and the plain, makes the effort of the climb more enjoyable, and the descent even more enjoyable.

Very nice and quiet climb on both sides, away from traffic and with numerous hairpin bends, which make it look like a miniature Alpine Pass. Highly Recommended
