Connecting ford for the Santerno cycle path, from Borgo Tossignano towards Fontanelice
February 28, 2021
Question for those who have been there: is there also a second ford (which can be crossed by bike without having to go into the water), at the other end of this bend?
To be clear, the continuation of the cycle path towards Fontanelice.
Thank you!

Absolutely YES, in total there are 3 fords:
1st in Borgo Tossignano, in winter if the river is in flood you can pass directly through the industrial area (there are a series of new cycle lanes) and then cross the river thanks to the Montanara bridge (there is also a cycle path here pedestrian area next to the very panoramic bridge).
2nd to the house of the river in Borgo Tossignano (this one in the Highlight) which cannot be diverted, you must necessarily cross it (it is practicable from approximately April to October)
3rd between Borgo Tossignano and Fontanelice (the longest ford of all 3, this too does not deviate, but being further upstream it is almost never flooded).
The Santerno cycle path crosses the river only at these 3 fords, all three of which can be used in the summer season, in no case is it necessary to "put the bike in the water"
.
(I hope I have been exhaustive with the request, if you have any doubts about the route to follow from Mordano to Fontanelice I recommend you take a look at my tour: komoot.it/tour/407886791?ref=wtd )
