As early as 1894, a 15 m high observation tower was erected on the flat summit of the Augstberg. After four years it was destroyed by a thunderstorm. This was followed by a seven meters higher scaffolding, which fell victim to a storm in 1908. Only 50 years later, a new lookout tower was created. He received a base of stone. The tower itself is a wooden structure. In 1963 he was inaugurated. There is a cultivated a lodging room with entertainment as well as fire pits and a children's playground.
