High and Over is quite a climb, particularly if travelling south out of Alfriston. It's got a couple of steep sections, one on the bendy section of road at the bottom and the second steeper section close to the summit.

The views approaching the start of the climb are the most rewarding, overlooking the bends in the road, the dry valleys and downs, the Litlington White Horse, flint farm buildings and the Cuckmere Valley.
