This is an off-road section of the National Cycle Route 4, which links up with the road down into Tonyrefail.

While not suitable for road bikes, it isn’t far to push or carry.

The alternative is to take the main road from the junction to 'Our Welsh Cavaran & Camping', and there's another cycle path which means you don't have to go the whole way into the village on that road.
