The Col de Bassachaux peaks at 1,777 meters above sea level. It is accessible by road from the town of Châtel only.

The pass offers superb unobstructed views of Lake Montriond in particular. It is also the starting point for many hikes to Lac Vert, Pointe de Chésy, or Mont de Grange.
