The natural monument Seitenstein with 496 m above sea level is located in the district Hellenhahn-Schellenberg. It is a basalt layer of about 25 m in height, the circumference is about 200 m. The Seitenstein surpasses in size and dimensions of the two wolf stones in the district Bad Marienberg. An inner and an outer ringwall surround the Seitenstein, whose contours are still clearly visible on the western side. The meaning of the two ring walls is not known exactly. However, it is believed that this was a Celtic place of worship.
