The Seitenstein natural monument at 496 m above sea level is located in the district of Hellenhahn-Schellenberg. It is a layer of basalt around 25 m high and around 200 m in circumference. The side stone exceeds the two wolf stones in the district of Bad Marienberg in terms of size and dimensions. An inner and an outer ring wall surround the side stone, the contours of which can still be clearly seen on the western side. It is not exactly known what the significance of the two ring walls was. However, it is assumed that this was a Celtic place of worship.
