Mountain biking
Only one water source all the way from the city to the canyons (35km). Safe, and empty except from some local friendly nomads. During Summer seasons, make sure you avoid being around the canions the afternoon, the region is famous for sudden weather changes (storms, thunder) that does not last longer than half an hour, but can cause floods.
