The Braungartenbach flows through the village, which splits into various streams after Merkendorf and flows together with other streams, all of which are left tributaries of the Altmühl. To the west are the forest areas Triesdorfer Park and Tiergarten and the Ochsenwasen corridor area. Approximately The Lachfeld is 0.5 km north, the Kappelfeld is approx. 0.5 km northeast, and the Gibitzen forest is approx. 0.5 km east.

A mighty tower for a chapel; At the foot of the tower is the war memorial.
