The Villa Spalletti, called the “Palazzo”, is located on the plain, in the hamlet of San Donino di Liguria, in Via Franceschini n ° 11.

There is evidence of the existence of the villa as early as the seventeenth century.

The first owner was the Marquis Carlantonio Giannini, Secretary of State of the Duke of Modena.

When the Giannini family became extinct, the estate and the villa were sold in 1776 to the Trivelli family. Since the beginning of the nineteenth century, by descent, it belongs to the Spalletti Counts, who still own it today.

The current structure of the villa, park and other buildings is the result of various renovations that respected the various eras.

The last renovation was commissioned by Count Gian Battista Spalletti Trivelli to the Milanese architect Luigi Clerichetti, around 1860.

While maintaining the previous structure, the exterior was redecorated following international styles, in particular English and French, and transformed into current forms.

The villa is huge and impressive. The yellow facade is divided into three parts; it has a central body and two slightly advanced octagonal-based wings, shaped like an “angular turret”.
