Even though wild camping is not technically allowed in the Mecklenburg Seenplatte, the area is known to treat it with a relaxed approach. As long as you keep quiet, don't create any overly wild fires and remain respectful, you shouldn't have an issue. This little gem is a hell of a camping spot: it's broad, flat, and super close to the water, albeit raised so you don't have to worry about getting wet. You can reach it via paddle boat or hiking. Just remember: there aren't any shops around except for the odd corner shop on the various camping sites in the area, so be prepared to bring your own supplies.

This is certainly not the case for the area around Fürstenberg: the forest rangers in particular are not on good terms with wild campers because they usually leave their rubbish behind and increase the already high risk of fire. Anyone caught will be reported. And the wolf packs are certainly not for everyone at night. But there are many beautiful natural campsites, e.g. at Ellbogensee or in Priepert. There you can also get something to eat in the morning and a coffee during the day.
