The middle mill is believed to be the oldest in Bellheim. In the mill protocol of 1768, the then owner Nicolaus Entzinger is quoted: "Sothane mühl was built by the famous Wentzel, as far as he knows". Since 2008, the Bellheim Cultural Association has been committed to letting the Mittemühle appear in a new splendor in order to be able to preserve a piece of Bellheim's history. The Bellheim cultural association also organizes the mill and hill festival annually on the premises of the Mittelmühle.
