The Piallassa della Baiona is covered by a prairie of plants such as glasswort and lemon grove that make up a brackish meadow called Prato Barenicolo.
On the banks we find lemon and September plants, grasses and shrubs such as the blackthorn, the vitalba and the bramble.
Among the fauna, avocets, the Knight of Italy, egrets, the refectory and seagulls stand out.
Of unique importance for some birds is the finding of food for nesting species such as, for example, the black tern, the shag and the black tern.
The Piallassa della Baiona can be traveled on foot, by canoe and by bicycle, crossing the splendid pine forest of San Vitale.
For enthusiasts, guided tours with kayaks are possible to enjoy unique landscapes
especially with the colors of the sunset.
