It's a jewel of rocky architecture, dating back to the VIII century. The staircase leads to the crypt, dug entirely in the tuff rock bank, and divided into three naves by four pillars. The stone decoration of the ceiling is unique of its kind, reproducing a Greek cross dome and a coffered cladding in the central hall. Behind the central altar, there is a frescoes of the holy Mary and Child flanked by two Angels dating back to the XII century. Fragments of other frescoes also remain in the niche that opens on the right side. In 1780 a small church dedicated to San Vincenzo Ferreri was built above the crypt. Today it's possible to visit it, according with the official guide at the 'proloco' tourism office at the central square.

To visit it, it is necessary to contact the Proloco which, with great availability and with the dedication of the volunteers, makes itself available to organize guided tours. Normally the crypt is closed.
