This cycle path (trail of the stones) runs on a former railway line. It is 38 kilometers long and runs about 27 kilometers of it on this old railway line from Fährkrug near Templin to Fürstenwerder. The railway line was opened in 1913 and unfortunately dismantled by the Russians after the war as reparations. Since railway lines were/are ALWAYS built without gradients and mostly very straight, as a cyclist (in the otherwise hilly landscape) you don't have any uphill or downhill gradients. At some rest areas and "old train stations" the former route is lovingly pointed out (e.g. in Hardenbeck).

Well-landscaped, scenic bicycle road on a former railway embankment between Hardenbeck and Warthe. Highly Recommended

Brilliant drive-smooth asphalt without end. And nature without end. Great!
